Rumors have been circulating that the original frontman of the legendary rock band Van Halen, David Lee Roth, will be reuniting with the band during a summer tour of North America. Those rumors are true as Roth will perform with original members Eddie and Alex Van Halen again for the tour. The new bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen, son of Eddie, has replaced original bassist Michael Anthony.
Eddie Van Halen says on the bands Web page that "I am very excited to get back to the core of what made Van Halen."
Roth hasn't performed live with the band since he was replaced in 1984 will Sammy Hagar. They did get together in 1996 to cut a couple of new songs, but there was
no tour involved.
The summer tour will include 40 cities, but no dates have been released at this time.
The group is also set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12 in New York.
