Minnesota looks like they'll have to endure another celebrity politician wannabee, as Al Franken is telling Democrat insiders that he's going to run for the U.S. Senate in 2008, challenging current Repulican Senator Norm Coleman.
I guess Minnesota residents will have to put up with another circus, rather than a spirited political race. When you consider that Franken's a clown, I guess that would fit though.
Minnesota's Past

In his latest book "The Truth (with jokes)," about all he could come up with concerning issues centering around Coleman was "The subcommittee's chairman, Minnesota Republican Norman Coleman, is one of the administration's leading butt boys. He hasn't held a single hearing on postwar corruption." I guess he means like fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton.
On his Web site Francken posted a video clip saying this:
"Minnesotans have a right to be skeptical about whether I'm ready for this challenge, and to wonder how seriously I would take the responsibility that I'm asking you to give me.
"I want you to know: nothing means more to me than making government work better for the working families of this state, and over the next 20 months I look forward to proving to you that I take these issues seriously."
When you consider all he has to offer is calling political opponents names, like he did with his book "Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations," and the "butt boy" name he's given Norman Coleman, it will be pretty hard to take anybody like this seriously.
Minnesota's Future?

Hopefully those from Minnesota won't be deluded into voting into office another minor celebrity. There are a lot better people in the race on both sides of the coin. If they think Jesse wore them out, wait until they get the "mouth," if that's what they decide to do.
