With his first Oscar under his belt, Martin Scorsese didn't take long to tackle his next project, a rock 'n' roll film called The Long Play.
He is teaming up again with The Departed Oscar-winning screenwriter William Monahan for the project.
Also included in the film will be Mick Jagger, who will coproduce the picture via his Jagged Films business.
The film will take a look at the lives of two friends over a 40-year period in relationship to their involvement in the music business. Part of the story of the film will also be the changes in the music scene over that same period of time.
Scorsese, who signed a four-year deal with Paramount (VIA-B) in November, will be working with them on the film. Monahan will rewrite the screenplay for Scorsese. While there is no specific starting date set for the picture, it is the next project
for the two men.
This isn't Jagger's first time working with Scorsese as they got together to do a Rolling Stones concert documentary that will be released sometime this fall through Paramount as well.
