Fox (NWS-A) aims to give Steven Spielberg's new reality show "On the Lot" a big push as they have scheduled its debut to start on Wednesday, May 16 along with powerhouse "American Idol."
"On the Lot" is a filmmaker competition which was created by Spielberg, DreamWorks TV and Mark Burnett. The opening episode will be a one-hour audition to see who makes it.
After the debut show, it will take a week off and then reappear on Monday, May 28, with a two-hour special. The episode will feature films that are produced by the 16 contestants that make it through the audition. On the next night, May 29, the first elimination show will be featured with four contestants being dropped. That show will be for an hour, starting at 8 p.m.
From there it will be on a regularly scheduled Monday night slot at 9 p.m. with their "Film Premiere" shows, starting on June 4. Then on Tuesday they'll have their "Box Office" results show for a half-hour starting on June 5.
The 16 contestants are competing for a $1 million Dreamworks film development deal.
