Other than last weeks upword blip, the box office plummeted again as moviegoers decided they had other things to do than watch the offerings presented for the weekend.
"Ghost Rider" was able to hold on to its hold on first place, but they dropped a huge 57%, grossing only $19.7 million on its second time around; a testimony to how weak the box office has been this year.
In spite of a strong marketing push, Jim Carrey's "The Number 23" was only able to reach $15.1 million, and that was with opening at 2,759 screens.
Coming in third was "Bridge to Terabithia" which brought in $13.6 million to make the overall take for the movie $46.2 million.
