Crediting the theme from "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," which uses "Who Are You," a "Who" hit as a major reason for keeping their music in the public eye during their slow years, Pete Townshend, 61, and Roger Daltrey, 62, announced that they are they're launching a 28-city European tour. After that tour is over they said they're planning to expand touring worldwide.
The two played a set of four songs in a music studio that was also streamed live over the Internet, while holding a press conference talking about their tour.
In response to a question asking why they're going on tour after so long, Townshend said jokingly, "We're playing because Roger wanted to prove to all you cynical press people he could still do this."
The question about the personal battle between the two that resulted in the breakup of the band in 1982, Daltry answered that "Our relationship is back in the middle, it isn't up or down, it's there in the middle. We're working on making it go down."
Townshend and Daltrey are the only two surviving original members of the group and last year they released "Endless Wire," their first album in over 20 years.
The tour start in Lisbon, Portugal on May 8 and end July 9 in Helsinki.
