If you've ever been a fan of the old Hardy Boys book series, you may be glad to hear that Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller have been tapped to play the duo in a grown up version called The Hardy Men.
The show will be cast as an action comedy with the two now grown up. A little twist on the original will be while they are still going to be portrayed as siblings, they will be estranged and a last case that need to be solved brings them together again.
Night of the Museum director Shawn Levy has been picked to lead the project, being produced for 20th Century Fox.
This will be the first time the Hardy Boy characters will be on the big screen, but they have been on the small screen in several different instances.
One was back in 1977-79 when Pamela Sue Martin co-starred with Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. There was also a stint back in 1956-57 where the Hardy's were played on the Mickey Mouse Club.
For the two now though, Ben Stiller will be playing in The Seven Day Itch, which is scheduled for release on Oct. 5, and Cruise will be starring in Lions for Lambs, the first offering with United Artists.
Filming of The Hardy Men is set for 2008.
