
Fox (NWS) ran its "American Idol" for two hours on Tuesday and demolished the competition again, reaching a 11.7 rating/30 share for the night in the major 18-49 demographic, said the Nielsen overnights data. The show gained momentum as the night went on, starting with a 10/27 when it began at 8 p.m. and reaching a 12.8/31 at 9:30 p.m.
All CBS (CBS) and NBC (GE) were able to do was share the second spot for the night with a miniscule 2.9/8. The top show for CBS on the night was NCIS, which finished up with a 3.4/9 during the 8-9 slot.
For NBC, their leading show for the night was Law & Order: SVU, which took in a 4.1/11 in the 10-11 p.m. time slot.
ABC (DIS) limped into fourth place with a 2.1/5. The largest viewership they were able to garner came from Boston Legal, taking in a 2.6/7 in the 10-11 p.m. slot as well.
The Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars were able to attain a 1.4/4 for the CW.
