Some have been wondering what's next for Carrie Underwood after she won Grammy's, including Best New Artist, as a country music artist. She became the first country star to win Best New Artist since Shelby Lynne in 2001.
When asked if she would crossover she said, "No, no." I love country music and they've been so great to me, it's just been amazing. All the people in it are amazing, so that's definitely where I want to stay."
Underwood isn't afraid to remember where she came from as she's not afraid to show here appreciation for "American Idol" and the impact it had on launching her music career. "'American Idol' is the reason that I'm here — period, end of story," Underwood said. "There's no way I'd be doing anything like this if it weren't for 'American Idol.'"
The other "Idol" winners have made moves to distance themselves from the impact of the show upon their careers.
Underwood is currently working on her sophomore album, following-up on her massive-selling Some Hearts, which went five-times platinum.
On her new album she's working with familar faces like Brett James, Hillary Lindsay, Gordon Sampson and Jonathan Yudson, who were the writers on "Jesus, Take the Wheel." She's also working with Chris Thompson and Josh Kear who wrote on "Before She Cheats."
