The as yet unnamed site that will be built to compete against YouTube (GOOG) by News Corp. (NWS-A) and NBC Universal (GE) has chosen AOL and its advertising.com unit to manage and serve ads on the site.
This comes on the heels of last weeks announcement that the two companies were partnering to build a video site that would present full-length movies and TV shows. It is set to launch this summer.
It will be based on an ad model which advertising.com will manage. They will take care of the video and display ads, along with ads that will be embedded in the media player for their distribution partners.
NBCU and News Corp. plan on building up their own marketing sales unit, which will share revenue between content owners and their online partners.
What ad space isn't sold, advertising.com will use to help generate other advertising revenue.
