With the NCAA men's basketball tournament just nine days away, CBS (CBS-A) has said that they've sold about 95 percent of its ad spots for the three week tournament.
In the early rounds of the playoffs, the network will receive rates of $100,000 for each 30-second spot. When it reaches the Final Four, 30-second spots will cost $1.2 million. With Sunday's "Selection Show," all the spots are already sold out, and are selling from $75,000 - 80,000 for each 30-second spot.
CBS Sports Exec VP/Sales & Marketing John Bogusz said that rates for this year have increase around 5 percent over last year.
Regular corporate championship partners sponsors Cingular/AT&T(T), Coca Cola (KO), and GM (GM) are returning this year, while CBS also said that UPS (UPS) and Bank of America (BAC) have been added as new corporate championship partners sponsors. Other companies returning as partner sponsors are State Farm, The Hartford, Enterprise, DiGiorno’s (KFT) and Lowe’s (LOW).
