Christina Applegate is of course well-known for her role in the Fox (NWS-A) series "Married...with Children," where she played the airhead Kelly Bundy over a 10-year period.
Now she's returning to star in a television series of her own for ABC (DIS) called "Sam I Am." She will play the main character who was in a coma but wakes up with amnesia and has to find her life all over again.
Applegate has won an Emmy for her guest-starring role in "Friends," and will be joined by fellow Emmy-winner Jean Smart, who won from roles she guested in on "Frasier."
Irish writer Cecelia Ahern, a best-selling novelist helped to create the story for the pilot.
