After weeks of rumors, Daniel Radcliffe has been confirmed as signing on to star in the final two Harry Potter films of the series.
The final two in the series are "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." It wasn't as difficult in real life as it was made to sound, as he has been signed on for about a month. Radcliffe's publicist Vanessa Davies confirmed that "Daniel signed several weeks ago and is very much looking forward to filming ['Half-Blood Prince'] in September," speaking through a spokesman.
I think it was obviously an orchestrated attempt at creating extra interest in the series with the recent performances he had in "Equus," which has initiated the rumors. Radcliffe had to do full nudity in the dark play.
Maybe it was part of the overall strategy for the series as well as the next installment of the "Potter" series is considered the darkest of all of them, and maybe they wanted Radcliffe to be seen in a different light.
The upcoming movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," will be opening in theaters on July 13. Potters co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who play Harry's best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, have not signed on for the final two films as of yet, although it is said that they do have an interest in reprising their roles.
