Discover Communications which owns the Discovery and Science Channels, among a number of properties, announced that it has hired NBC Universal's Bruce Campbell to be president of its digital media properties and business development.
Campbell is the executive vice president of business development for NBC Universal (GE) at this time. For Discovery, Campbell will head up joint ventures, business transactions and acquisitions.
In connection with NBC Universal, Campbell was involved with the acquisition of iVillage, Telemundo and Vivendi Universal Entertainment.
Campbell is set to start working for Discovery next month and will report to CEO David Zaslav, another NBC Universal alumni.
