Even though Katheryn Winnick didn't work out for the Fox (NWS-A) pilot "Nurses," the network was impressed with her enough to sign her on and find a new dramatic project that would fit her strengths. The decision was made after she guest-starred on a episode of "House."
The reasoning behind the decision to drop her from the "Nurses" show was that it began to go in a more comedy direction, which they didn't feel played to her abilities.
Fox casting leader Marcia Schulman said that "Katheryn is such a great dramatic actress, so we mutually agreed that we would find something better for her. We have so many great dramas on Fox, and so many more female roles than we used to, that we wanted to save her for something special. There are better things for her to do with us."
Winnick has appeared in the movies "Failure to Launch" and "Kiss Me Again," while also playing Ivana Trump in the ABC (DIS) channels' "Trump Unauthorized."
