The international film market was real weak as there was no film that even broke the $10 million mark last weekend. The top performer was "Music and Lyrics" which took in $9.67 million across 26 markets. Considering it was in 2,542 screens, that was a pretty soft showing. It did help it to increase its overall total to $44.45 million, passing its domestic sales.
Finishing second was "Norbit" which finished with $9.27 million in 18 markets. It would have finished in first, but it only showed at 1,987 screens. Its total is now $19.31 million internationally.
Dropping from first place to third place internationally was "Ghost Rider," which came in right behind "Norbit" with a $9.20 million showing on 3686 screens in 54 markets. That brings its sales to $76.50 million in the international market.
While "300" predictably did well in Greece opening in 112 screens and taking in $3.1 million, it was an all-time record-breaker for the country, even beating out "Dead Man's Chest" for the biggest opener ever. The film finished in 5th place overall internationally, but only debuted at 395 screens in 7 markets.
