Fans haven't had much opportunity to see the real feel and look of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies through the years, unless they've been able to physically attend them. Usually all that is handed out is an edited version of what happened during the event, missing out on the overall experience.
In response to that AOL will live stream the ceremonies on March 12, the night of the event. There will be no commercial interruptions. They will also be made available live on VH1 Classic and MHD (MTV’s hi-def channel), although with commercials.
The next day there will also be on-demand offerings and eventually the usual heavily edited version on the following weekend.
This years inductees are Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, R.E.M., Van Halen The Ronettes and Patti Smith.
AOL has some experience with its streaming of the Live 8 coverage, this should promise to be a good show if they stay focused on what is happening onstage. Maybe it will lead to all the induction ceremonies that have went largely unseen by the public being put online for everyone to enjoy.
