
A lot of people were wondering what numbers the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship games would produce, and the results are in. Overall they surpassed last years number with some room to spare.
With Florida looking to be the first back-to-back winner in quite awhile, it drew some extra interest, which reflected in numbers of the finals.
The NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship Game between Florida and Ohio State ended up beating last year's matchup between Florida and UCLA handily. The game averaged a 12.2 household rating/20 share, which was a hefty 9 percent increase over last years final of 11.2/18. At it peak the game drew a 13.8/25 between 11-11:30 p.m. ET.
For the semifinals night, it increased only a little over last year, finishing with an 8.7/17, up by 1 percent over the 2006 finals.
Overall, there were 132.7 million viewers that tuned in to watch a portion of the tournament, that was 3 percent over last year's 128.5 million. Just in case you didn't know, Florida won this year as well.
