
Casting Crowns' "Voice of Truth" walked away with the song of the year award at the BMI 2007 Christian Music Awards. Lead singer for the group, Mark Hall, also won for songwriter of the year.
There were awards presented for 25 songs across five different categories: inspirational, Christian rock, contemporary Christian, urban gospel and Southern gospel.
The awards are for recognition on being the most performed songs on Christian radio and television for the past year.
According to their Web site, "BMI Vice President Jody Williams, along with Senior Director Thomas Cain and Associate Director Beth Mason, of BMI’s Writer/Publisher Relations department in Nashville, presented awards for 25 songs."
Other winners were Yolanda Adams, Ed Cash, Kirk Franklin and Jay Joyce, among a number of others.
