In response to a TV documentary that center on a couple of look-a-likes of David and Victoria Beckham, the couple have threatened to sue Sky One over the project.
The fake couple has been going around Los Angeles fooling fans while they get business owners to give them free products and also lying to a garage owner so that he would allow them to drive a Lamborghini.
The Beckhams say that they are furious about it as it could ruin their brand and reputation.
The fake duo, Andy Harmer and Camilla Shadbolt, have been impersonating the two for seven years, but evidently not to this level before.
Manager for the Beckhams says that it could potentially ruin the brand that has been built around the Beckham name. He really could be right there. When you think of how this couple could do things that could be mean-spirited or even borderline illegal, there could be a lot of problems as gossip got around that they were doing things when in reality it was the fake couple.
On the other side of it, I wonder if the producers of the show ever thought of what would happen if they crashed the Lamborghini or some other type of problem that could easily arise from the ringers.
Sky said through a spokesman, "We can confirm acknowledgement of a legal letter on behalf of the Beckhams, but cannot comment any further."
I guess it's interesting, but why would someone want to watch a documentary of a couple impersonating the Beckhams when they can see the real ones all the time. It seems they only want to show how they can fool people into doing extraordinary things for people because they're celebrities.
I wonder if Sky One will continue on with the charade?
