Disney has tapped Adam Sandler to star in their new family comedy "Bedtime Stories," which will begin production later this year. Adam Shankman ("Hairspray") has been chosen to direct the project.
The film is looking to be released in the holiday season of 2008.
The story is based upon Sandler playing the role of an uncle who tells his niece and nephew detailed, creative bedtime stories which start to come true. As a result his whole life goes topsy turvy.
The picture will be produced by Sandler and his partner Jack Giarraputo through Happy Madison Productions, along with Andrew Gunn via his Gunn Films.
Executive producers will be Jennifer Gibgot, Anne Marke Sanderlin and Adam Shankman.
Shankman has worked with Disney before for their hits "The Pacifier" and "Bringing Down the House." They recently resigned him for one year for a first-look deal, along with his partner Gibgot.
