
FX is about to release a new legal drama this summer which will star Emmy Award winning actress Glenn Close for her first starring role in a TV series.
She has worked with FX before, playing the role of Captain Monica Rawling in the FX hit The Shield during the entirety of the fourth season. She was nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe for best actress in a drama series for her efforts.
The show which will be named "Damages," which will feature Close as litigator Patty Hewes, who agressively pursues corporate leaders. Close is getting together again with Ted Danson, who plays the part of one of those she has targeted. They worked together in the miniseries Something About Amelia.
After viewing the pilot episode which was shot in January and February of this year, FX placed a 13-episode order for the drama. The production of the show will be shot in New York beginning in May, and is set to be released this summer.
Todd A. Kessler (The Sopranos), created the show, along with Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler. Directing the pilot episode was Allen Coulter (The Sopranos, Hollywoodland).
