Larry the Cable Guy looks like he's going to be the sheriff of the city as he joins the upcoming film "Witless Protection," which will be distributed by Lionsgate.
The basis of the movie will be Larry, who will play a small-town sheriff who thinks that he has saved a woman in trouble from being kidnapped, but finds out that those he thought were kidnapping her were in reality FBI agents who were protecting her while on the way to testify in a corruption trial. Eventually the "Sheriff" discovers that the agents are corrupt as well and really are out to kill the witness.
Also starring in the show will be Ivana Milicevic, Eric Roberts, Peter Stormare, Joe Mantegna and Yaphet Kotto,
Helming the project will be Charles Carner, who also scripted the story. Filming will start on May 21st in Chicago.
