Principal photography for the upcoming comedy "The Better Man," starring Martin Lawrence, has started said Universal Pictures in a press release.

Also starring with Lawrence will be James Earl Jones, who will play his father in the film. Others included in the project will be Margaret Avery, Nicole Ari Parker, Joy Bryant, Louis C.K., Mike Epps, Mo'Nique, Cedric the Entertainer and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Malcolm D. Lee scripted the film and will also direct it. He's also brought "Undercover Brother," "The Best Man" and "Roll Bounce" to the big screen.

Producers for the comedy will be Mary Parent, charles Castaldi and Scott Stuber. Executive producing will be Lee and Timothy M. Bourne.
