...traveler that is. The former Dallas prime-time soap star Victoria Principal landed a ride on Richard Branson's inaugural space flight of his Virgin Galactic.
The goal of Branson is to have the first flight up by no later than 2010, and hopefully by the spring of 2008.
Initially, the price of a ticket is $200,000, with hopes of eventually getting it down to the $75,000 range.
Principal, who is 61-years-old, will have to pass a set of tests to ensure that she, along with other potential candidates, can handle the G-force tolerance training and flight simulations. They must be able to handle speeds of up to 3,000 mph, among other conditions.
Concerning the overall venture, Virgin Galactic exec and former Royal Air Force officer Will Whitehorn, said, "It's time we rediscovered the thrill of space. The key thing is that, with the new technology that's available, we can make the dream a safe, affordable reality for thousands of people."
Once the ship takes off, it will end up 100 miles above the earth's surface, where customers will experience weightlessness and promises potential extraordinary views.
The trips will be scheduled for two-and-a-half hours.
Others trying to get included on the trip are Morgan Freeman and Paris Hilton.
