Celine Dion's five-year run at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is coming to an end in December, and the hotel-casino has chosen to replace her with the "Divine Miss M," Bette Midler.
Midler will have big shoes to fill as Dion pretty much sold out every night while her show "A New Day," grossed over $500 million since it began in 2003. Dion announced in January that this would be the end of her run at the end of the year.
Midler admits she is a little intimidated by the size of the stage, which is said to be one of the largest in the world at 120 feet across and 60 feet high.
"The stage is so enormous there's a terror that you might not be able to fill it all by your lonesome, you know, a little person in high heels," Midler said.
Her show will open on February 20, 2008, and will play five nights a week for 20 weeks of each of the next two years. Shows will run 90 minutes long.
