In a concert by a band that no one seems to know a thing about, rumors are flying all over Southern California that the pop diva will be making surprise performances at the concerts of The M+Ms.
In response to the rumors, Spears fans have been buying any ticket they can get hold of to make sure they see her.
Reuters reported: "A publicist for Spears did not return phone calls, while a spokesman for Live Nation, the concert promotion company that recently bought the House of Blues chain where the M+Ms were to appear, would not comment. Her agent at William Morris Agency was not available for comment."
The shows by the M+Ms will be on Tuesday in San Diego, in Anaheim on Wednesday and in West Hollywood on Thursday.
Concerning music sales, Nielsen Soundscan said that there is no one by the name of M+Ms with a registered record.
Either this is a great marketing ploy by some obscure band, a trial balloon by Spears camp to see the reaction, or a rumor that just happens to be true.
With the rumor coming so soon before the concerts, it may be impossible to trace where they came from before we see if something happens on Tuesday.
