With the promotion the of the new season of The 4400 in mind, the USA Network, through Campfire Media, has created an online, interactive video bonanza that play from 30 seconds all the way up to five minutes, that will eventually spread across six Web sites.
At this time the company has three up and running: PromicinTerror (an anti-Promicin site), PromicinPower (a ‘pro’ site) and PromicinInfo (a neutral debate site), according to the Campfire Web site.
The 4400 is the story of 4,400 people that are abducted for a period of time and then returned to the planet. After they've been back for a while, they discover that they have superpowers.
As the show's season gets closer to beginning on June 17, there will be three more Web sites added, with the sites being updated 2-3 times weekly with new videos being added, along with articles and essays.
"We're trying to dissect this story and then break it out as it would be explored if it were in real life," said Gregg Hale, creative director, co-founder of Campfire. "We're looking to energize the fans and do something that's a little bit different in terms of marketing."
The USA Network and Campfire are hoping that fans will make up their own characters, and dress like they'd like to see them on the show, which will give them a chance for their creations to be inserted into the 4400 Universe.
It looks like there will be enough video and content available for the biggest fans of the show, and anybody will be able to dig into the story as deep as they want to.
