With the acquisition of the rights to air "Murder, She Wrote," the Hallmark Channel gets itself over 250 episodes to add to its catalog of shows. They bought the rights from NBC Universal Domestic Televison Distribution.
Hallmark will run the series on the old nights that CBS used to, in the 8 p.m. slot on Sunday nights. It will also run on Monday-Friday in the 8-10 a.m. slot and in
the 11 p.m.-1 a.m. It will premiere on the channel on June 3.
The series which stars Angela Lansbury, quit its long run on CBS in 1996. It played for some time on the USA Network.
Hallmark has been growing its viewership solidly and is looking to cash in on it in the upfront and scatter market this year.
