Happy with the performance of "Blood Ties," Lifetime made the decision to order up another nine episodes.
The network has decided to put the series on hold until October, when it will run the nine episodes over 5 back-to-back weeks. They are also planning a rerun marathon of the current shows in September leading up to the resumption of the series.
Taking up "Blood Ties" slack during the summer will be the three new original series' Army Wives, Side Order of Life and State of Mind. When they finish "Blood Ties" will start up again.
The show has been a good performer for the network with an average of 1.4 million overall viewers, with 460,000 women in the key 18-49 demo, and another 220,000 women in the 18-34 age group.
Peter Mohan is the creator of the show as well as executive producer, along with Randy Zalken, Kirk Shaw and Marshall Kesten.
The series is based upon The Blood Books by Tanya Huff.
