To coincide with the release of the latest album of Paul McCartney, "Memory Almost Full," Starbucks (SBUX) has planned a debut at over 10,000 of its stores globally where visitors will be able to listen to the album while they drink their favorite brew. It is estimated that it could reach as many as six million people in 29 countries.
The initiative will be on June 5, when fans at 10 different Starbucks locations will also be able to be involved in a video tribute to McCartney, who will turn 65 on June 18. Some of the cities where fans can participate are New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Seattle and Philadelphia.
The video from the event will be aired on the Internet first.
Fans will also be able to hear a full day of McCartney music on Starbucks Hear Music XM Channel 75, where not only past music will be heard, but also the new album will be put into the rotation as well.
