Jennifer Morrison has been picked to star in the Lifetime movie "The Murder of Princess Diana," based upon the book by Noel Botham. Morrison co-stars in the Fox (NWS-A) hit "House."
According to Lifetime Networks president Susanne Daniels, many people, especially British citizens consider Diana's death an unsolved mystery. A BBC poll revealed that 31 percent of British citizens don't think her death was an accident.
"In this movie, we are sharing a dramatic story that will appeal to millions of people's continued fascination with both the facts and speculation surrounding the case," she said.
Morrison's role in the film will be that of an American journalist who starts an investigation into the accident after being a witness to it. Her character is skeptical of the official reasons given for the events that surrounded the death of Diana.
Producing the film will be Working Title Television. Directing will be John Strickland.
Shooting is in Paris and Luxembourg, with the show set to premiere in August.
