Hollywood beauty Jessica Alba has been methodically working her way toward the top of the Hollywood business, and with six movies out this year she just may push the competition aside.
Her first project is out of course with last weekend's premiere of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," which she plays again the role of Sue Storm.
Other projects she'll appear in this year are a thriller called "Awake," a horror film "The Eye," and three comedies - "Bill," "The Ten," and "Good Luck Chuck."
It didn't hurt to be named the sexiest woman in thr world earlier this year either.
In reference to her ubiquitous promotions in magazines, Alba said, "I do men's magazines to promote movies. Women's magazines don't have as many polls. The polls seem to get publicity for the magazine. So when you are in the public eye and when you are in films, they just sort of keep putting you on it and it's very flattering."
The only downside I see in this is she's doing too much. Will people tire of her? Will her numerous projects put her in the public eye too much and dilute her marketability?
Time will tell in this. But she may need to cool things off a little bit and let people digest her presence everywhere. The risk in putting out this many pictures in a year are related to their success or failure. If the films she's in bomb, she could find her rise to fame fleeting and short term.
There's always another diva waiting in the wings to take someone's place.
