Joel Gretsch, who plays the role of Tom Baldwin on "The 4400," says in an interview that he almost didn't take the role when it was offered him. Gretsch said when he got the call from his agent, he was going to refuse the role.
The circumstances were he had just finished doing "Taken," while working with director Steven Spielberg. He considered the experience "magic," so he wasn't interested in doing another sci-fi show at the time. His agent persisted, telling him to "Just read it." When Gretsch did, he immediately love the drama.
This seasons show should start of exciting as the wife of Gretsch's character Tom Baldwin, who plays an agent of the government's National Threat Assessment Command, which is responsible for watching the '4400,' had his wife abducted last season's cliffhanger, and will be searching for her.
The release of promicin into the population also promises to be the underlying theme of this years series, as its unpredictability gives the directors a lot of ways they can take the storyline.
The series will have the premiere of its fourth season on USA on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.

I think the show would be totally different without him. Thanks for that post!
