In one of the first major deals in the upfront this year, WPP Group GroupM media-buying agencies have agreed to about a $1 billion advertising deal with NBC Universal (GE). It includes their digital and television properties, said a spokesman for the agency.
The unsurety about the price standards to be used this year has been the chief reason for the delay in negotiations.
Some of the advertisers represented by the agencies Mindshare, Mediaedge:cia and Mediacom are Nokia (NOK), Unilever (UL) and Burger King (BKC).
Included in the agreement will be all NBC's broadcast coverage, their cable properties, Websites and Spanish-language progamming.
