A spokesman for the Billy Graham family said the evangelists wife Ruth, lapsed into a coma on Wednesday morning and is near death. Speaking for the family, Larry Ross said, "She appears to be entering the final stages of life."
Billy Graham said, "Ruth is my soul mate and best friend, and I cannot imagine living a single day without her by my side. I am more in love with her today than when we first met over 65 years ago as students at Wheaton College."
Mrs. Graham just celebrated her 87th birthday on Sunday. A couple weeks ago she had been treated for pneumonia, and had improved temporarily before relapsing.
With some disagreement within the family about where they would be buried, Billy Graham said that the decision was only his and his wife's alone.
They have decided they'll be buried in the prayer garden of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte.
