During a taping of "The Late Show with David Letterman" which will air on Monday night, Drew Carey confirms that he'll be the new host of "The Price is Right" show, replacing legendary Bob Barker, says People online. Carey when talking with Letterman said he had only heard the news of the deal a few minutes before going on stage.
Other legitimate contenders for the slot were George Hamilton, Mario Lopez and Ian Ziering.
This is the second show Carey will be hosting for CBS (CBS-A) as he'll also be the host of the new prime-time game show "The Power of 10."
"When do you begin?" asked Letterman, to which Carey said: "You got me...All I know is that all the deal points we wanted got settled. And I just found out, honestly."
Being an admitted fan of Carey, I do think he's a great choice for the show.
