Fox (NWS-A) has decided to bring all its owned-and-operated stations in-house to make their media buys. It represents 26 individual stations in the company.
At this time each station has been making individual deals with various media buying agencies. Fox hope that the consolidation will get them better deals with their increased economy of scale. News Corp. has been consolidating in other businesses within the company during the last year.
Most of Fox's other media buying is being done by Zenith Media, which won the account in January 2007. They handle most of the media buying, but not the stations owned by Fox.
Fox also does it buying in-house for its newspaper unit, but they've now turned their theatrical business over to Zenith.
For the Fox-owned stations, they haven't formed a team to put that together at this time.
