Rob Zombie, who has found himself unsurprisingly a niche in the horror film space, is getting ready to loose his version of the "Halloween" horror story.
Zombie has scripted and directed "The Devil's Rejects" and "House of 1000 Corpses" in the past.
Now his new project, which is set to be released in theaters on Aug. 31, will focus on the Michael Myers side of the story.
"We go on his journey of what his life is about," Zombie told fans at Comic-Con, the pop culture convention. "This really has no connection to those other movies."
Playing Myers in the film will be Tyler Mane, while Scout Taylor Compton will play Laurie Strode, his sister. In the role of Myers' mother will be Sheri Moon, Zombie's wife, and Malcolm McDowell will star as Dr. Loomis.
Zombie said he won't be making any cameo appearance in the film.
