In the perfect venue for the announcement, at the Comic-Con, Spike TV (VIA-B) announced it's getting together with comic book legend Stan Lee to offer original ringtones through its mobile service.
"We are thrilled to partner with the legendary Stan Lee for the launch of his original ringtones on Spike TV mobile," said Erik Flannigan, EVP, digital media, Spike TV. "Stan has created some of the most beloved superheroes in comic book history and his genius can now be experienced in the digital arena."
Keeping with a comic book/super hero theme, there will be messages included about a users' secret identity or major enemies, among a number of interesting things.
Responding to the deal, Lee said: "Wow! What a kick to be using my own quotes as ring tones for good ol' Spike TV! The gang at Spike must like to live dangerously 'cause they let me say whatever I want-- so consider this fair warning, O True Believers-- you're in for some wild and wacky verbal wonderment!"
Stan Lee has been responsible for hundreds of comic book and motion screen heroes like the Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four and The Incredible Hulk.
