While the recent three-hour special on NBC (GE) which Al Gore called "the largest global entertainment event in all of human history," which very few bothered watching, was a study in how the Fairness Doctrine only applies one way, it also should have had the label of infomercial listed at the beginning and end of it.
The infomercial would be under the umbrella of General Electric, which is quietly in the background hoping all the hype about the alleged global warming catches on. If you knew some of the types of products GE has in the pipeline, you'd know what I'm saying is true. Things like the flourescent bulbs and wind turbines, among many other products the parent of NBC is sitting on the sidelines with.
As an article at CNNMoney said, citing Investors Daily, "When a conservative appears on talk radio, liberals cry for the Fairness Doctrine. Seventy-five free hours for Archbishop Gore's Church of Climate Change? Not a peep."
NBC ended up giving Gore 75 free hours of airtime throughout its various stations and channels.
In a hilarious response to Gore's goofy statement that if "The planet has a fever. If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor," they said, "After Gore's testimony, a better course of action would have been to ask for a second opinion." The truth is that a second opinion has been offered, and a lot of media outlets refuse to let it be heard. There's for the most part a blackout on the thousands of scientists that have said the science behind the global warming fiasco is faulty. Where's the so-called Fairness Doctrine? Evidently hidden away in the closet until a liberal needs to come out of it.
While Al Gore may be strutting like and with the Peacock in their one-sided mating ritual, people are starting to see that there are a lot of vested interest by politicians and some big business for the global warming myth to be considered a reality.
No wonder nobody watches NBC anymore.

The truth is that scientists are still making discoveries regarding global warming and some of the data is inconclusive. It would be nice if the media actually provided balanced news but there is always a frame and often an agenda behind that frame. I guess its too much to ask to actually be able to make up our own minds about the information instead of being spoon fed one sided propaganda, regardless of what side it's coming from.
