USA Networks, after a seven year wait, has finished on top of the ad-supported prime-time cable ratings for the second quarter, beating out TNT for the honors. Not only did they win in total viewers, but in three key demos as well.
The net reached the second best quarter in their history, averaging 2.57 million viewers in prime time.
In the key 18-49 demo, USA increased their audience rating by 3 percent over a year ago, with a 1.19 million viewer average. For adults in the 25-54 demo, they added another one percent growth rate, as they finished with a 1.17 million average in prime time.
For the 18-34 age group, they won that also with another 3 percent increase there, reaching 560,000. Most of that is credited to their popular WWE Raw show, which is the leading cable program in that demo.
The numbers come from Nielsen Media Research, which used Live-plus-seven-day DVR playback numbers from April 2 through June 17. For the last two weeks of the quarter they used a Live-plus-same-day basis.
