Buddy Sheffield, who wrote the Roundhouse comedy series for Nickelodeon, sued Walt Disney Co. (DIS), saying they took the show from a pitch he made in 2001 to the company, called Rock and Roland, the story of a boy that attends school in the day and is a music star by night. Gee, that sounds familiar!
Sheffield claims he attempted to sell the concept to Disney and was rejected by the company.
In the lawsuit, it is said that Disney potentially may owe millions in damages and profits to the company.
Although you never know, this doesn't sound like much to me. It's not exactly like people with alter egos are anything new in the entertainment world. Every superhero in comic books and on the big screen have them, and they've had them for decades.
Hannah Montana is the hit Disney series that stars Miley Cyrus and actor/entertainer dad Billy Ray Cyrus.
