In his second project after leaving HBO as mobster Tony Soprano, James Gandolfini will play the role of Sonny Vaccaro in a made-for-TV HBO film.
Vaccaro is a real-life personality who was a corporate sports scout who signed Michael Jordan to the first million-dollar deal for Nike shoes.
The story dubbed "ABCD Camp," focuses on a basketball camp Vaccaro developed for young people.
This is the second project entered into by Gandolfini, who also was executive producer of "Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq," a documentary where he interviews a number of U.S. veterans from the Iraq war. It will premiere on Sept. 9.
