Reports from a British newspaper said "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling is haunting the cafes of Scotland again working on a new detective novel.
The legend and lore of Rowling is she did here writing in Scottish cafes so she could save on the heating bill at home, while being a single mom.
According to the report, a neighbor of Rowling's, who also happens to be an author, Ian Rankin, told a reporter at a literary festival that she was now working on crime fiction. "My wife spotted her writing her Edinburgh criminal detective novel," Rankin was quoted telling the reporter.
Rowling has said recently she doubts she'll be able to reach the success her "Potter" novels did, but added: "I'll do exactly what I did with Harry—I'll write what I really want to write."
It will be very interesting to see if she can transfer her writing talent to the new genre. While many adults, along with young people loved her "Potter" books, this is a completely different audience she'll be writing to.
