The hiring of Bob Bibb and Lewis Goldstein by Lifetime Television has Lifetime Networks President/CEO Andrea Wong ecstatic. The two have a ton of success at working together in previous arrangements. They are hired as co-chief marketing officers, and will be based in Los Angeles.
"This is a huge coup for Lifetime," Wong said in a statement. "From their remarkable careers spanning the start-up of two young-adult networks, Fox and
The WB, Bob and Lew have become synonymous with innovative marketing techniques."
Working together they helped launch the Fox Network in 1986, then joined The WB and became co-presidents of marketing in June 2001.
Normally I wouldn't think the idea of co- anything would work well, but their past sharing of job responsibilities and titles makes it a non-issue in this case.
Bibb and Goldstein had been working in a consulting role with Lifetime, managing the launches of the three successful series this summer: Army Wives, Side Order of Life and State of Mind.
The decision to move the marketing team to Los Angeles has cost Lifetime senior vice president of planning, scheduling and acquisitions Leslie Chesloff, who for personal reasons wasn't able to make the move.
Lifetime's marketing unit has been in a state of upheaval since a mass exodus of workers from the division, along with Martha Pease, left the company in March.
