
Merv Griffin has been battling prostrate cancer since he was diagnosed with it in 1996. Word is he has taken a turn for the worst as he's very ill according to KNBC news, citing Entertainment Tonight. His representatives won't give out any comment on his condition one way or the other at this time.
Griffin who is 82, was treated in July at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a routine examination found it had recurred.
He is probably best known for his long-running talk show "The Merv Griffin Show," which ran from 1962 to 1986. He was also the creator and producer of the game shows "Jeopardy! and "Wheel of Fortune."
Griffin has won three Daytime Emmys. Two for "The Merv Griffin Show" and one for "Jeopardy!"
As of this writing Griffin is in critical condition.
