After a scare for Duane "Dog" Chapman, and a three-year battle with Mexican authorities, he is no longer wanted by the police in the country. A Mexican judge cancelled the order against him that he illegally detained a rapist in the country, who also happened to be a U.S. millionaire. The order was cancelled because of statute of limitations.
The convicted rapist was heir to the Max Factor fortune "Andrew Luster."
Chapman's lawyers say they are certain the prosecutors will appeal the decision but believed the decision would stand.
When Chapman was arrested in Mexico for apprehending Luster, he himself jumped bail and fled to the United States. In Mexico bounty hunting is illegal.
After "Dog" captured Luster, he was arrested in Puerto Vallarta. Luster was sentenced to 124 years in jail for drugging and then raping three women. He fled the U.S. during his trial, but is now back in jail after being captured.
