Judith James, head of the Women in Film/GM Alliance, has been named as editor-in-chief of the new online magazine called Traction, created to help women in the media business.
James executive produced the Quiz Show, and produced Mr. Holland's Opus (one of my favorites), Trigger Happy, and a number of movies for a variety of studios.
The purpose of Traction, according to James is to "provoke robust discussion and fresh thinking about women and the media." The hope is for the information to get readers to think and interact with the magazine.
Included in the online magazine are articles specific to the industry, as well as a virtual mentor, where featured articles will show how to do everything from working in China to working with child actors.
There is also a directory or resource links readers can access, including companies and organizations connected to the industry.
