Reese Witherspoon is partnering with Avon (AVP) to become the company's first "Global Ambassador," according to a Reuter's report.
The actress, who won an Oscar for playing June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line," will be a spokeswoman for the company and honorary chairwoman of the Avon Foundation, which focuses on woman-related concerns.
"As a woman and a mother I care deeply about the well being of other women and children throughout the world and through the years, I have always looked for opportunities to make a difference," said Witherspoon.
After her news conference announcing the deal, Witherspoon said the major reason she got involved was Avon's commitment to helping women around the world.
Along with being a spokeswoman and honorary chair, Witherspoon will have a strong role in marketing across multi-platforms, and will be involed in some of the product development.
The terms of the multi-year deal weren't disclosed.
